POLYANA DE OLIVEIRA

Founder & Director

Polyana has spent her life falling in love with Brazil. Brazilian born, she was raised in the United States, and has been living in Brazil since 2008. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Global Business and Relations, and an MBA with emphasis on innovation and entrepreneurship. She has worked in the travel industry since 2011, and Viare, she is responsible for overall team management, strategy and partnerships, but also loves interacting with clients. Her favorite place to visit in Brazil is Minas Gerais. The state, where she was born, is home to beautiful mountains for hiking, and where she can eat all the cheese her heart desires.

Thayana’s passions include travel, running, dancing, and family – including the newest addition to hers, her daughter Mariana. She holds a bachelor’s degree in tourism and an MBA in travel services management. At Viare, she is responsible for making trips run smoothly on all ends. Moreover, she makes exceptional service look easy, with her friendly demeanor and incredible attention to detail. Thayana is passionate about the Amazon region, as a member of a boi-bumbá dance troup in her native Petrópolis, Rio de Janeiro. After visiting and experiencing the Parintins festival for herself, the preference for the destination has been settled.

Beatriz Mourad

Admin & Finance

Despite being one of the youngest on the team, Beatriz is the one who keeps us on our toes, and takes care of the day-to-day admin, accounting, and project management. She is an entrepreneur and virtual assistant, at the head of BM Assistência Virtual, and helps other small businesses like ours. She has also founded and leads a female entrepreneur group in Macaé, Rio de Janeiro. Since she is this ultimate force of nature, Beatriz loves to wind down with a tv series binge, or meeting up with friends over pizza. Despite living right on the beach, she loves cool weather and her hometown of Teresópolis in the mountains of Rio de Janeiro state.

Anna has been in contact with tourism as a field since she was 17 years old. She holds a bachelor’s degree in tourism and is now working everyday to become more of an expert. She has always wanted to make a positive difference for people, animals, and nature. Fortunately, she found the tools for this in sustainable travel. Also interested in photography and arts, Anna is always making sure to use this love when creating trips for her clients. Born and raised in Brazil, Anna’s new place to call home is Buenos Aires, where she is absorbing new experiences, the local culture, and seeking to fathom the differences and similarities between her two homes. She believes in the power of travel and cultural exchange, in making the world a better place for all.

Helena Peres

Helena holds a Bachelor’s degree in Tourism and has dedicated herself to the profession since 2008. She has worked in hotels, small local tourism businesses, cultural exchange agencies and even at the tourism board in her home state of Minas Gerais – all of which have brought her multiple, rich experiences! She is passionate about history and learning new things. Helena has a special place in her heart for Manaus, since it is home to the family she has chosen to be a part of after marrying a legitimate manauara. She loves to travel and can’t wait to show the world to her baby girl Catarina! Helena truly believes in the transforming power of travel to build a more fair and humane society, and can’t wait to build your trip to Brazil!

How to Know Viare is For You

Polyana founded Viare in 2016, while operating an agency that was bringing hundreds of travelers from around the world, to events like the 2014 World Cup and 2016 Rio Olympics. At the time, she felt travelers were not presented to Brazil’s best self, and local communities weren’t getting the return they deserved. She came upon the concept of responsible travel, where travelers and local providers worked to preserve and appreciate the destinations visited, and figured this is what she wanted to offer. And so with a play on the words, “viagem,” (travel) and “responsável,” (responsible), “Via-re” was born.
