Allison booked a 3-week Brazilian vacation with us Allison booked a 3-week Brazilian vacation with us this April. Viare is founded and operated by solo-female travelers, so this is one of our favorite kind of requests! We strive to provide an experience where women can feel safe, welcome, and immersive while traveling throughout the country.

After a day touring around São Paulo, she made her way to Manaus & the Amazon at @amazongreentours where Elso and Paula made sure to give Allison a genuine Amazonian experience.

After finishing the Amazonian leg of the trip, it was time to go to Salvador! @toursbahia made sure that she arrived well, followed by a historic walking City Tour and a Mystic Bahia tour to learn some of the mysteries and curiosities about the religion brought from Africa to Bahia.

Then, she embarked on a Rio de Janeiro & surroundings journey starting in Rio (and a lovely food tour with @eatrio), swam and hiked in Paraty with @paratytours, and then got a couple of free days in Ilha Grande to relax before going back to Rio and enjoy a little bit more of the city.

How would you like to spend your 3-week vacation in Brazil?

In April, we were thrilled to receive @BlackHistor In April, we were thrilled to receive @BlackHistoryStudies in Brazil, a trio that traveled from London to scope out our African Legacy Tour. After YEARS of planning, it was finally possible for Charmaine, Mark, and Shanika to embark on this much anticipated journey.

Thanks to all the Brazilian black-owned businesses, we created an itinerary starting in Rio de Janeiro and ending in Salvador. In 15 days, they did so much! For starters, the lovely guide Kelly from @rioencantos took the group on a Little Africa & Carioca Nights tour to visit archaeological sites and show them the city's black heritage.

Then, a quick visit to the Coffee Valley in Vassouras, the incredible and special dinner at @quintaldemaeparaty in Paraty, Quilombo da Fazenda with the "mestres" of the community in Ubatuba with @rotadaliberdade_br, an AfroSampa experience with @deborahtourguide in São Paulo, sustainable farming practices at Quilombo Cafundó with the community and @solangecristina.barbosa, and fell in love with all things Salvador, with @sayurikoshima_bahiatourguide & so much more.

During the trip, the group enjoyed Brazil's street art and museums, music, typical Brazilian food, and more! And of course, while tasting some delicious Cachaça too.

Thank you @blackhistorystudies, and @blackhistorystudytours for letting us be part of this incredible project!

More INCREDIBLE news soon. We'd stay tuned if we were you 👀
A lot of people ask us how we market our services, A lot of people ask us how we market our services, how we reach travelers, and one of the most significant ways is through partner platforms. This month, we were incredibly humbled and happy to be featured in a few different places in one of our partners' communications - on @travellocalglobal (see photos above)! Seven (7!) years ago this month, Viare participated in ITB with the Brazilian tourism board, @embraturbrasil, and it was there that our director, Polyana, met with the cofounders of @travellocalglobal, Tom and Huw. They had a lovely chat, where Tom and Huw said they were looking for a local partner in Brazil, and Poly spent the rest of the fair hoping to hear back from them. She did - and Viare became the platform's first Brazilian LTO! Since then, we have grown together with TravelLocal, welcomed some of our most incredible clients through their platform, and are always working together to make each others' work more and more geared towards responsible tourism in our destination and the destinations where TL's local partners operate.
If you are the type of traveler who prefers to book with a platform that has the financial insurance you need in your home country (like ABTA in the UK, and ASTA in the US), want to pay in your own currency, or just want to find a platform for you to have the ability to book with local partners wherever you travel, find us on TravelLocal and in your request, ask to be connected to Viare Travel!

Priti and Raj traveled from the UK to South Americ Priti and Raj traveled from the UK to South America to celebrate a big birthday and anniversary! 🎉

In order to make their trip extra special, they decided to also make sure they were in Rio de Janeiro for Carnaval! Traveling to Brazil during Carnaval can be tricky, if you aren't familiar with the logistics, and how the endless street parties work.

After a few days in Buenos Aires and then both sides of the Iguaçu Falls, Priti and Raj were able to see and do it all in Rio too! Street parties, parade at the Sambódromo, and the city's highlights! They finished their trip off with a few relaxing days in paradise on Ilha Grande ☀️

What did they love about their trip besides the stunning sights and fun activities? Viare's on the ground support Whatsapp group and digital itinerary to keep things organized, and to help when there were hiccups along the way!

What did you think of their itinerary? Are you planning on coming for Carnaval in 2025?

Feliz Carnaval! We are in the middle of Carnaval Feliz Carnaval!

We are in the middle of Carnaval festivities in Brazil this week! And although when many think of Carnaval, they think of the massive floats in Rio de Janeiro, Carnaval is actually a countrywide event, and most Brazilians are actually far from the confines of the Sambadrome during this period.

We put on elaborate costumes, or a cacophony of the most outrageous pieces we have in our closets, douse ourselves in glitter, and take to the streets, where we encounter multitudes, dancing whilst following musicians playing percussion and brass instruments.

We sing together, we drink, we indulge in street foods, we are young and old dancing together, we make new friends, we enjoy time with old friends, and we fall in love.

As we told clients of ours yesterday, while suggesting some "blocos" for them to go to during Carnaval, after listing off many precautions (watch your personal items, wear sunblock and a hat, etc.), "Most of all, have fun! Dancing in the street to live percussion with lively strangers can be oddly liberating!!" 🎉🎉🎉

Photos from Carnaval in Belo Horizonte, one of the country's favorite up and coming city for the festivities, by our own Viare Travel alumn, @trintaycinco.
